Silverlink 5 Interface

The SilverLink 5 is the latest DesignaKnit interface for connecting Silver Reed and Knitmaster electronic knitting machines to a Windows PC. It enables seamless transfer of pattern data between DesignaKnit software and the knitting machine, supporting both standard and intarsia knitting.

Key Features

• Direct communication link between knitting machine and PC
• Real‑time feedback of stitch and row information during interactive knitting

  • Silver Reed curl cord to main carriage
  • USB to Windows PC
• Contains its own processor and memory, replacing SilverLink 1 and 2
• Automatically transfers patterns to internal memory at the start of interactive knitting
• Stores up to 16,000 rows of pattern data
• Retains stored patterns even when powered off
• Designed exclusively for Windows‑based PCs

Compatibility

Supported machines:

• Silver Reed electronic models
• Knitmaster 550, 560, 580

Not supported:

• Singer/Superba electronic machines
  • (Use ScreenLink for these models)

How It Works

1. Connect the SilverLink 5 to the knitting machine using the curl cord.
2. Connect the unit to your PC via USB.
3. Use DesignaKnit to download patterns directly into the SilverLink’s memory.
4. Begin knitting—patterns remain stored until replaced, even if the unit is powered off.
