This hand-operated yarn winder has an oscillating metal yarn guide, with a centre spool that spins but does not move left to right.

Wool winders, yarn winders, or ball winders as they are often known as, are used to transform hanks of yarn into ready-to-use balls.

It can also be used to reduce the size of large comes in to smaller and more manageable sizes.
